About Iona
Iona achieved her Performance Degree with First Class Honours from the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, where she studied under the esteemed harpist Gabriella Dall'Olio.
Over her professional career, she has trained with distinguished harpists such as Kez Thomas, Rachael Masters, Sue Blair, Eleanor Turner, Karen Vaughan, Frances Kelly, Park Stikney, Fabrice Pierre, Elizabeth Fontan-Binoche, among others.
In 2022, she had the honour of being the soloist for National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain during their Spring Residency, performing Debussy's Danses. Iona also served as the Principal of the National Youth Orchestra, a memorable achievement in her career.
A graduate of The BRIT School for Performing Arts, Iona enjoys a wide variety of musical genres, including classical, jazz, and pop. She has a passion for musical theatre, having performed in West End productions such as LMTO's "A Christmas Carol" at the Lyceum and "Ragtime The Musical" at The Bridewell Theatre. Furthermore, she has developed a new appreciation for opera while collaborating with Kentish Opera on their production of "The Tales Of Hoffmann".


Iona is a regular for many London Hotels, notably found at the Royal Horseguards, Sofitel st. James and London's Waldorf Hilton. She is also a busy wedding and events player.
Alongside a fruitful performing schedule, Iona is an avid composer, working as the the curator of the Lever Harp Syllabus (published May 2026) for the Music Teachers' Board.
During Lockdown, Iona collated some fantastic remote works, including an engagement for the BBC Scottish players in their remote recording of 'The Swan'. She has also recorded for Jessie J's musicians, alongside her own home recording bookings through SoundBetter. Iona is a regular with various 'Am-Dram' societies such as The Quay Players and The Phoenix Players to bring their musicals to stage as Musical Director.
Iona enjoys rehearsing and performing with her Flute and Harp ensemble named 'Dolcemente' (Iona Heather and Victoria Rockport) and practising piano duets with her Mother.
Iona has taught for several years for the likes of YAMAHA, The Blackheath Conservertoire, Moosik Makers and the Bromley Youth Music Trust and has published four major publications including 'A Moment With The Harp' and 'Crab On!', and 'In The Zone', all available to purchase via TheHarpStudio.com
